Ingredients

  • 1 cup+ cubed watermelon
  • 1 cup+ coconut water

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cut off the rind of your watermelon and chop the flesh into cubes.
  2. Step 2: Fill a Ninja Creami pint container with the diced watermelon up to the max fill line. Pour coconut water into the cup, also up to the max fill line.
  3. Step 3: Secure the lid on the pint and place it in the freezer on a level surface. Freeze for 12 to 24 hours until fully solid.
  4. Step 4: When ready to prepare, either microwave the pint for 30 seconds or run the outside under hot water for a few minutes to slightly soften the contents.
  5. Step 5: Insert the pint into the Ninja Creami machine and spin using the sorbet setting. You may also use the lite ice cream setting if preferred.
  6. Step 6: If the sorbet texture is dry or chunky after the first spin, simply re-spin until smooth and creamy.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra sweetness, choose a ripe, naturally sweet watermelon or add a splash of honey before freezing.
  • Try adding a few fresh mint leaves or a squeeze of lime juice for a flavor twist.
  • If you don’t have coconut water, plain water or a light fruit juice can be used instead.

Storage

Store any leftover sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer for up to one week. When ready to eat, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly before serving.

Can I use this recipe without a Ninja Creami?

This recipe is designed for the Ninja Creami machine to achieve a smooth sorbet texture. Without it, you can freeze the mixture and stir it every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals, but the texture may be less smooth.

What if the sorbet is too icy or hard after spinning?

If the sorbet is too hard or icy, try letting the pint sit at room temperature for a few minutes before respinning. This helps achieve a creamier texture.
